Our New Executive Director Has Been Chosen!

It is our pleasure to announce that the next Executive Director of All Tribes Camp has been chosen! Our new full-time Executive Director will be Chrissy Flietstra! Chrissy has served as Program Director at Galilean Bible Camp in Blind River, Ontario and as Leader-In-Training Program Director and Promotions Representative for Medeba Adventure Learning Centre in Haliburton, Ontario. Chrissy has a love for God, a love for kids, and a life-long love for all things camp!

While Chrissy is new to our All Tribes Camp family, the Search Committee and the Board of Directors are confident that God has clearly led us and that Chrissy is the right person to lead the camp into its next stage of growth.

Chrissy is currently working in Australia, and will be at All Tribes for the final camp week of the summer, The ROCK Overnight Teen Camp, August 20-26. Throughout the Fall and coming year, Chrissy will be reaching out to connect with and meet our campers and supporters as she gets to know her new camp “family” here on St. Joseph Island and in the surrounding area.

Jonathan and Marney Stewart, current volunteer Executive Directors, said

“Chrissy is a real camp person, and has an impressive resume of full-time camp experience. We are excited about the experiences and fresh energy she will bring to All Tribes as we enter this new stage of growth and the second half of camp’s first century.”

Liz Down, speaking on behalf of the Board and Search Committee, says

“Chrissy not only comes with a long list of qualifications and experiences to help her manage, run and help the ministry at ATCC grow, but along with this, brings an enthusiasm for people in the community to grow in relationship with and experience Christ as they discover their God-given purpose. Her love for the Lord and ability to work well in varying situations and with varying people will prove to be a great asset to the camp's ministry. We are confident the community will undoubtedly support her through this time of transition. We are so excited to watch God work through Chrissy as she flourishes into this new role as Executive Director of ATCC!”

Jonathan and Marney Stewart will continue as Executive Directors until September 30, 2017. Please mark Saturday, September 16th on your calendar for a Come and Go Tea planned that day to thank Jonathan and Marney and officially welcome Chrissy!

Thank you for all your prayers and support throughout the search process. We ask for your continued prayers as we transition from having volunteer Executive Directors to a full-time paid Executive Director - these are certainly exciting times!!

A Little Background on Chrissy

Chrissy was raised in a ministry family as the daughter of Pastor Jack and Dedee Flietstra, who pastor Lansing Avenue Baptist Chapel in Sudbury, Ontario. Attending Galilean Bible Camp throughout her growing up years, Chrissy has been heavily influenced by this excellent ministry. Chrissy is a graduate of Heritage College in Cambridge and the Proságo Christian Leadership Training program at Medeba. Along with having worked full-time in camp ministry, she also has been assistant manager of an Algonquin Outfitters retail store. It is clear that God has uniquely prepared her for the vital work she is now called to as All Tribes’ first full-time Executive Director overseeing all aspects of our existing and new ministry programs.
